Verkleed tijdens carnaval

De feestdagen zijn voorbij en het nieuwe jaar is van start gegaan. Nog even geduld hebben en dan is het alweer tijd voor het volgende feest, CARNAVAL! Carnaval 2022 begint op zaterdag 26 februari en eindigt op 1 maart. Hoewel de precieze uitvoering ervan nog even een vraagteken is, want wat gaat er mogelijk zijn i.v.m. Corona, is het toch de moeite ons eens wat meer in het feest te verdiepen, en alvast wat inspiratie voor outfits op te doen. Stel het publieke feestgedruis kan niet doorgaan door de maatregelen, wat let jou dan om er met een vriend, je partner of je huisdier een feestelijke bedoeling van te maken en gekleed in een originele outfit een biertje te drinken? We hebben nog even de tijd om een goede outfit te scoren en alle toeters en bellen uit de kast te halen, maar eerst eens tijd om ons te verdiepen in de vraag waarom we eigenlijk verkleed gaan tijdens de carnaval en wat de leukste outfits voor carnaval 2022 zijn. In dit blog duiken we dieper in de achtergrond van dit geweldige feest en geven we jullie tips over de mooiste outfits.

Waarom verkleed met carnaval?

Tegenwoordig is een originele en mooie outfit haast onmisbaar tijdens carnaval, maar waarom gaan we eigenlijk verkleed? Om deze vraag te beantwoorden gaan we ver terug in de tijd. Er zijn namelijk experts die onderstellen dat het feest voortkomt uit de tijd van de Grieken. Zij vierden ieder jaar aan het einde van februari een feest ter ere van de god van de wijn, plezier en dans. Deze god heette Dionysius. Bij dit feest werd een kar met illustraties van deze god door de straten gereden wat enorm veel lijkt op het carnavalsfeest dat we vandaag de dag kennen.

Andere experts beweren dat het afstamt van Romeinen. Ook hier komt het feest voort uit het eren van een god, Saturnus. Tijdens het feest kregen slaven wat meer vrijheden en waren er optochten, drink- en eetgelegenheden en vermommingen. Na de opkomst van het katholieke geloof werd het feest bestempeld als een heidens feest en daarom verboden. Toch bleven de mensen feest vieren, maar om niet te worden herkend, deden zij dit verkleed. Uiteindelijk hebben ook de katholieken het feest in de armen gesloten met de verkleedkleding erbij.

Originele carnavalskleding

Hoewel ze vroeger erg simpel verkleed gingen, denk aan lappen stof of lakens over het hoofd, is de carnavalskleding door de eeuwen heen steeds gekker en uitbundiger geworden. Een origineel kostuum is steeds belangrijker geworden. De tijd van een simpel piratenpak is geweest, maar wat zijn dan wel goede kostuums?

1.       Originele kostuums worden vaak afgeleid uit populaire gebeurtenissen, films of series. Een aantal jaar geleden konden we niet om de “La Casa de Papel” kostuums heen. Dit jaar zullen we veel mensen zien in een squid game pak uit de Netflix serie Squid game.

2.       Ga als Griek/Romein. Met dit thema kun je veel kanten op gaan, van toga tot gladiator. Daarnaast laat je op deze manier ook meteen zien dat jij weet waar carnaval vandaan komt.

3.       Heb je altijd al gedroomd hoe het is om een van jouw favoriete Disney figuren te zijn? Dan is dit jouw kans.

4.       Een origineel groepskostuum. Door het coronavirus hebben we erg lang niet samen kunnen feesten. Het is de vraag of dit deze carnaval wel kan gaan gebeuren, maar fantaseren over het ideale groepskostuum (zij het voor volgend jaar) is altijd een goed idee. Met een groepskostuum creëer je een echte eenheid!

Hoe vind je jouw carnavalsoutfit?

Een originele carnavalsoutfit vinden kan erg moeilijk zijn. Kijk eens rond bij verschillende carnavalswinkels om tot een unieke outfit te komen. Menig carnavalswinkel heeft namelijk enorm veel keuze in kostuums, zodat er voor iedereen een passend kostuum te vinden is. Toch liever zelf een kostuum creëren? Met verschillende carnavalsaccessoires en een beetje creativiteit geef je jouw carnavalsoutfit een geheel eigen draai!
